A Message From Pastor Dan

"No matter your background, we welcome you to encounter Jesus with us."

Thank you so much for visiting our website and discovering a little more about our church.  We hope you decide to visit us soon. When you arrive we want you to feel comfortable. So please, come as you are. We will also be enjoying coffee and tea before and after the service. We'd love to get to know your name and hear your story.

If you have questions, please contact me by email using the link below or drop by the office Tuesday - Friday.

- Lead Pastor Dan Walbert

What To Expect

Our prayer for every gathering is that you feel welcomed and loved. We pray that you leave the building not thinking about how nice the property is, or how insightful the preacher’s talk was, or even how enjoyable it is to sing songs. We want you to leave our gathering amazed at the God of creation, and His radical love expressed through the finished work of Jesus Christ for you personally.

If you don't remember anything when you leave our gathering except how wonderful Jesus is, we view that as a success.

Walking into a new church can be intimidating and at times terrifying depending on your previous experience. If you are considering attending one of our worship gatherings, we pray that you would take the vulnerable step and come check it out. There's only so much you can learn from a website or a live stream sermon. We'd love the opportunity to meet you, to answer any questions you have, and to pray for you if you have any needs.

On a Sunday morning you might see some people in a suit and tie, others in a t-shirt and shorts, and a lot of in between. We believe that God does not expect us to clean ourselves up before we come to Him and His church. So we say, come as you are. Our worship gatherings usually last around 90 minutes and include worship through music, the preaching of God's Word, and prayer. We also periodically celebrate through believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper. If any of that doesn't ring a bell, don't worry. We will explain everything we do as we do it.

  • We worship and pray – we believe Jesus is central to everything we do.
  • We preach, teach, and express grace not guilt.
  • We embrace the Word and the Spirit – the Bible is about a person who speaks and acts in love.
  • We serve the needs of the city of Sacramento and our Greenhaven neighborhood.
  • We think all people are to be loved.
  • We innovate when the  future demands or imitate as the past supports.
  • We value the organic and the organized.
  • We strive for quality – but realize that authenticity is a more realistic goal.
  • We intentionally make space for new leaders.
  • We build strong teams and turn them loose to serve our neighbors.
